Everyone loves a good, relaxed, and intimate barbecue, one that you can do within your comfort zone. Whether it is for your leisure or for a party, nothing beats the fragrant aroma of a sizzling tenderloin steak or a charcoal grilled burger over a fiery pit. The hot high flames roasting your favourite flesh marinated in sweet and spicy mix is truly salivating especially when coupled with cold beer fresh from your refrigerator and to be served in your den while you attentively watch a great game on your television.

So skip those commercial ready made grills on wheels and build yourself your own Barbecue that fits nicely into your deck. The idea of setting up a barbecue in the backyard is nothing new. It was a popular trend during the 1950's at a time when charcoal grills and gas was a remote fantasy of the future. Although mass produced grills and stoves have dominated the patios for some time, people are now going back to the old days of building their custom barbecue in their backyard.

If you are interested in having a custom barbecue just behind you, you first need to think of what you really want to have in your backyard cooker. Do you want something simple or something more elaborate? Are you thinking of setting up a fire pit or something that is gas operated? This would partly depend on your budget. If you are worried about the cost, you can set-up a simple fire pit with metallic poles as a stand for your grill. If you are prepared to spend, you can have burners, ventilators, gas grills and others to complete your outdoor cooker that would shame all those available in the market. Once you have visualized what you want, you are now ready to build your barbecue.

Setting up your custom simple barbecue does not necessarily require a doctoral degree. Find a place for the fire. It should be well ventilated so that you will not asphyxiate with the smoke or die trying to get the flames burning. You also need a cooking grate or where you can put the food on. All you need when constructing this kind of grill is some logic and common sense. You can do it yourself or with a friend in one afternoon over some chips and a few bottles of beer

But if you want something more complicated than a charcoal or firewood cooker, you might need to buy a gas grill insert intended for outdoor use. This is readily available to most hardware stores so it wouldn't be a problem to have one. Some shops will suggest plans to help you build you your backyard cooker.

It's recommended to think about the house design and build something similar that will bland easily, remember that the barbecue is going to be outside all the time, try to build something that the whether doesn't effect vary fast. You can build it in any way or shape that you can imagine but remember that you'll using it pretty soon so it can be wise making it practicable and safe at any cost.
